Herzog-Bernhard Square and Klagenfurt Gate

The square that is some 100 metres long was once part of Klagenfurter Street and was given granite paving and a glass cover designed by Alfred Lengger, an architect from Villach. It was the first covered pedestrian zone in a small Austrian town. The square rapidly developed into a popular town and shopping centre with busy cafés.
